05 April 2012 H.E Minister of Culture Receives Indian Ambassador

Culture Minister Shaikha Mai bin Mohammed Al Khalifa received this morning Mr. Mohan Kumar the Indian Ambassador to Bahrain at her office in the National Museum. The meeting comes within the framework of openness to other different cultures. Means of cultural cooperation between the two countries were discussed along strengthening the historical ties between the Bahraini-Indian cultures.

Culture Minister Shaikha Mai reviewed with the Indian ambassador the latest developments and cultural events, which have been  held in the first quarter of this year within the framework of  "Manama, capital of Arab Culture, confirming her continuous efforts in enhancing Bahraini knowledge through a new experiment, and establishing a combined culture that links different countries cultures. H.E Minister of Culture, in celebration of Manama as capital of culture, has deployed strenuous efforts to update the cultural accumulation and to enhance different perspectives, by shedding light on twelve intellectual themes. She added that this program is not limited to Bahrain, but rather embraces world cultures and civilizations a year- long and the next year, when Manama will celebrate the capital of Tourism.

For his part, Indian Ambassador Mr. Kumar expressed his delight for the remarkable cultural movement, which characterizes the current Bahraini scene. H.E also praised the different tourism and cultural projects, which are essential elements for the Kingdom's development
