25 April 2012 "We all read" campaign inaugurates its interactive Arabic language Website

Under the patronage of H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Minister of Culture, "We all read" campaign inaugurated its interactive Arabic language website in celebration of World Book Day, 23 April 2012. The website is creatively designed and rich in content, which triggered many attendants to interact, ask questions concerning its operating mechanisms and make some suggestions in order to better serve web browsers and visitors.

The director of the campaign initiative, Latifa Khalil, said in her welcoming message that "we all read" was first launched in the summer of 2009 as part of Ta'a al-Shabab festival. A group of talented Bahraini youths launched then a website to provide coverage of the different cultural events, but the main reason behind the campaign remains the spreading of culture and exchange of exceptional book titles for social interaction.

She added that the idea of the group's website is similar to the social media networks, such as "Facebook", in that it provides information, fun and especially a reference website to discuss and exchange books. The website offers the possibility of meeting and contacting other visitors, the possibility of evaluation and keeping up with the recent publications in culture and arts. It is worth mentioning that this type of websites was available before only in foreign languages. Thus, this new Arabic website is a well acclaimed innovation, which will boost intellectual production, cultural richness and social interaction.

The Bahraini talented group who designed the website showcased the operating mechanisms, specifications and challenges facing this new-born web site, which is in fact a graduation project masterminded by University of Bahrain students. The group includes Mohammed al-Sayyed, Latifa Metiwaa, Areej Abdulatif and Tareq al-Jamal, who voluntarily undertook to serve their country through culture and arts.

The campaign organizers honored the working group members and thanked them for their strenuous efforts to achieve this endeavor, wishing them all success in the future.
