04 June 2012 TAKREEM International Jury Convenes Reunion ..
A preliminary review of the files of all nominees for this year’s TAKREEM Arab achievement Awards Edition took place in Beirut on April 19 and 20 when the initial Selection Committees met.  The files of short-listed candidates were then made available to the International Jury, members of which are drawn from all over the Arab world and beyond. 
 
Following a thorough examination of the finalists’ files, the International Jury convened May 30 in Paris to agree upon who the winners should be in the following fields: Philanthropy and Charitable Services, Environmental Development and Sustainability, Scientific and Technological Achievement, Innovation in Education, Cultural Excellence, Arab Woman of the Year Award, Young Entrepreneurship, Outstanding Corporate Leadership and Exceptional International Contribution to Arab Society.
 
This meeting was chaired by the former U.S. Ambassador in Lebanon, Vincent Battle.
 
The convening of the TAKREEM international Jury Reunion is the final step in the TAKREEM calendar prior to the announcement of 2012 awards at a ceremony to be held in November.
The International Jury this year included HM Queen Noor Al-Hussein, HE Sheikha Mai Al Khalifa, Dr. Nouha Al Hegelan, HE Mr. André Azoulay, HE Dr. Mohamed ElBaradei, HE Dr. Lakhdar Brahimi, Mr. Carlos Ghosn, Mr. Marc LEVY, Mr. Amin Maalouf, HE Dr. Leila Sharaf and Mr. Raja Sidawi.
 
The jury meeting was then followed by a dinner at the Intercontinental Paris Le Grand, Salon Opera.
In addition to the Jury members, prominent personalities attended the dinner among whom HM King Ahmed Fuad, HE Dr. Boutros Boutros-Ghali, Sheikh Bahaa Hariri, Mr. Jacques Saade, Mr. Wafic Said, HE Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer, Sheikh Beshara El Khoury, Mr. Bassam Debs, Mr. Amr Zedan, Mr. Thierry Dassault, HH Prince Aziz Toussoun, HH Princess Alia Sanussi, Mrs. Venus Khoury-Ghata, Mrs. Mouna Ayoub…as well as a number of cultural, industrial and business figures.
