Bahrain is all set to host the fifth Bahrain Summer Festival starting next week that will continue until September 9. Held under the theme "A Journey of Joy", the festival is a mélange of art, theatre, music and dance, bringing together talented artists and performers from countries like Lebanon, Germany, Thailand and India. These events are part of the  Culture Ministry’s celebrations of Manama as Capital of Arab Tourism 2013. Bahrain’s summer main music concert will start with legendary Magida El-Roumi. Indeed,  Lovers of refined art have a special evening with an artistic unlike any other, Magida El-Roumi, whose dulcet voice, heartfelt performance, and tender songs which genuine emotion and warmth, reach out and touch both body and mind. An artist widely respected for her legendary performances of sung poetry and melodies, and a true ambassador of love and compassion. Magida’s concert will certainly dazzle her public on 18th September, at Bahrain’s National Theatre.
The festival will present this year  another outstanding music talent to his faithful  public; The latest Arab Idol, Palestinian singer Mohammed Assaf, will also perform as part of the line-up of the festival on September 1 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Conference Centre (BIECC). The Palestinian young man from Gaza was acclaimed by the show's jury and the public for his stage presence and incredible voice,  and his concert in Bahrain Summer Festival 2013 will be one of his major shows after his win in what will surely be a memorable experience for all his fans
Fareeda Mohammed Ali, known simply as Fareeda, is an acclaimed performer of the Iraqi maqaam style. Her extraordinary vocal gifts will be on full display as she performs a selection of her best known works, many of which were authored by some of the most well-known poets and producers in the Arab World.

Bahrain’s Summer festival is also a family event gathering children and parents under one sky of joy and entertainment at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Conference Centre (BIECC).  Thus, Scooby-Doo is brought to life in this live stage version of the cartoon classic. In this new musical theatre show, Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. Gang are out to solve a spooky mystery! 2 shows daily at the BIECC from 21 to 25 August. The performances put on by the German group “Sanostra” feature a superb amalgamation that toes that often elusive line between feats of sheer power and acts of delicate grace ( 29th-30 August). "Mystic India" is a Bollywood dance spectacular that transforms the stage into a colorful swirling vortex of movement and sound that meld together the ease of past with the fast pace of modern life, and features a brilliant fusion of gaudy costumes, ornate jewelry, elaborate sets, and magnificent lighting that is truly breathtaking (8th-9th September). Barney, everyone's favorite dinosaur returns to share his latest adventure with his fans in a roller coaster ride of song, dance, and fun (2nd-6th September).
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Culture, in order to guarantee a successful and colourful summer festival events, has cooperated with a number of sponsors and partners, who have always encouraged Bahrain’s Summer Festival.
