HRH Alwaleed bin Talal Visits Heritage Festival “Weaving Colours’

Entitled ‘Weaving and Colours’ this year’s celebration will showcase vibrant textiles and traditional local costume through a variety of exhibitions, crafts, workshops, fashion shows and more. This year, the popular celebration focuses on textiles and traditional costumes of Bahraini men and women, featuring a textile exhibition, market, daily Bahraini music, food and specialized workshops, as well as a chance to see some of Bahrain’s finest craftsmen at work. Coinciding with Formula1 Bahrain Grand Prix,  His Royal Highness Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Al-Saud visited the Heritage Festival and toured Bahrain National Museum, accompanied by Culture Minister Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa. HRH  Al-Waleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud visited the exterior hall of the heritage exhibition at  the National Museum, praising the Minister of Culture's efforts to protect the national identity

Shedding light on the importance of the cultural events accompanying Formula1 Bahrain Grand Prix,  Royal Highness Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud stressed the importance of visiting halls of the National Heritage Festival, which will run until April 9th, and celebrates weaving as a profession and generosity in Bahrain’s history.


The Saudi Prince was welcomed by  H.E  Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa, Minister of Culture, who expressed her deep appreciation and gratitude to him for accepting the invitation, underlining the importance of the relationship between culture and sports  in Bahrain. H.E  briefed her guest on the various year-long series of cultural events, which include the 16th International Bahrain Book Fair, the official inauguration of the Tree of Life Visitor Centre and the  Annual Heritage Festival, which is annually held under the Patronage of His Majesty king Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa. Worth to metion that the Ministry of Culture dedicated a “ Sports Tourism” season during the celebrations of Manama as the Capital of Arab Tourism in 2013.
