Minister of Culture and German Ambassador Discuss Bahrain’s Participation in (ITB)

As part of its strategy to boost the cultural and tourism sectors, H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammad Al-Khalifa, Minister of Culture, received German Ambassador, H.E Sabine Taufmann and discussed cooperation, with Manama being celebrated as Capital of Asian Tourism-2014. Indeed, the whole variety of travelling will be present at ITB Berlin: Destinations, tour operators, booking systems, carriers, hotels and all other suppliers who want to embellish their customers' most beautiful weeks of the yearThey also spotlighted the forthcoming participation of Bahrain in the International Tourism Bourse (ITB), scheduled to be held in March.


H. E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammad al-Khalifa, hailed the ITB as one of the largest travel shows in the world and continues to be a very strong show for the RMI states, based on both the participation and the number of business contacts generated. Private sector participants are able to exhibit in the RMI booth and are able to book business on site and create a high profile. The Minister of Culture also praised the strong cultural relations bonding Bahrain and Germany, stressing the importance of activating cultural and tourism exchanges. H.E expressed the hope that Bahrain's participation in the ITB event would contribute to building cultural bridges between all peoples in the world.


The German diplomat stressed the importance of Bahrain's cultural and tourism experience, congratulating Bahrain and the Minister of Culture on Manama, Capital of Asian Tourism-2014. Ms Hauffman described the importance of the forthcoming participation in the International Tourism Bourse (ITB). The German world event is an excellent opportunity to meet business partners and to do business. For all other visitors ITB Berlin is a wonderful possibility to discover the whole world within a few hours.


It is worth mentioning that Bahrain’s pavilion was chosen as one of the best in the International Tourism Bourse (ITB)-2013. The ITB Berlin is an international media event. In 2013 about 6,000 journalists attended the world's largest trade show for the travel industry, of whom about 1,500 came from abroad. In addition to the industry's leading trade magazines, business and travel journalists from 80 countries reported on the latest travel trends and products.The (ITB) is considered as one of the top specialised tourism exhibitions in the world, attracting 11,000 visits last year.
