“Room-Occupancy during Air Show reached 80%”

H.E Shaikh Khalid bin Hmood Al Khalifa, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Tourism Congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, and extended his congratulations to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister on the resounding success of (BIAS-2014).H.E also extended congratulations to HM the King's Personal Representative and (BIAS) High Organizing Committee Chairman Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al-Khalifa.

The Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Tourism said that "The show was a major boost, promoting Bahrain as a major destination and wooing visitors to tourism attractions", , stressing the crucial importance of such major events in boosting the rates of hotel occupancy and consolidating Bahrain's status on the map of tourism-oriented countries in the region.

Indeed, The 3rd edition of the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS-2014) proved to be a boost for the hospitality industry. Bahrain's five star-hotels reported a rate of room occupancy exceeding 95 per cent during the three-day event. The rate of room occupancy at four-star hotels soared by a substantial 20%, compared with (BIAS-2013) figures. In a statement, Assistant Undersecretary for Tourism Shaikh Khalid bin Hmood Al-Khalifa said that the overall room-occupancy topped 80% during (BIAS-2014). Apart from hotels, (BIAS-2014) proved to be a thriving opportunity for shopping malls, restaurants and cafes.
