The Last 4th Week of Bahrain Summer Festival, Inspiring events and activities at Nakhool Tent

 

After three weeks of exciting multicolor and tastes’ events and activities, the 11th Edition of  Bahrain Summer Festival has come to its last 4th week since it started on 20 June to end on 27 July 2019. A bouquet of the most inspiring entertaining programs for all ages, ranging between workshops, live performances and other activities  are awaiting lovers and attendees of Nakhool Tent, set near Salman Bin Ahmad Al Fatih Fort, Riffa. The tent welcomes everyone  from 5:00 pm-9:00 pm on a daily basis except on Sundays.

The first three days of the last week of the festival will kick off on (22, 23, 24 July) with a selection of educational workshops, such as “Launching Your Catapult”, which is organized in collaboration with the  Ministry of Youth and Sport Affairs, whereby the kids will learn about catapults, including the science and math concepts behind them, as they prepare for the associated activity in which they design, build and test their own catapults as well as learning about force, accuracy, precision and angles. In addition, there will be also another workshop, titled  the “Little Environmental” , organized in collaboration with: Supreme Council For Environment, the aim of which is teach kids the basics of protecting our earth and the environment. The “Anime Drawing” workshop by instructor  Abdulrahman Al-Buflasa, will give guidance and teach our little ones the basics of Japanese drawing skills, while during “Stencil Printing”, children will learn how to create Islamic art patterns using stencils and paint on paper. Other educational workshops include also “Quilling Paper” with instructor, Mrs. Shaima Murad, teaching them how to use colored paper strips to create various decorative designs, and “ Egg Drop Challenge” workshop, which is organized in collaboration with the  Ministry of Youth and Sport Affairs, which is  a fun and exciting way to get participants involved in engineering design. Participants will experiment with designing packaging for an egg to survive a drop from a considerable height without cracking.

The second part of the last week of Bahrain Summer Festival, starting on 25, 26, 27 July, will kick off with “ Our Marine Environment” workshop, organized in collaboration with the Supreme Council For Environment and will introduce children  to the environment of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its marine wealth. The “Bracelet Making” workshop, orchestrated in collaboration with Meraki Art Space, show them how to
Make fun braided yarn friendship bracelets, while during  “Origami Cards” workshop, done in collaboration with My Little World, the little ones will learn how to create handmade greeting cards using paper folding art techniques. The last workshop, titled Painting and Drawing on Stones” by Instructor Ms. Shahzlan Alhussaini, will show our kids how to create lasting handmade artworks, using paint on stones.

In addition, the “ Weekend Activities” will carry on from 5:00pm-9:00 pm, and the little ones will certainly enjoy “Portrait Sketch” ( caricature), whereby they will sit for a quick and comically fun portrait of your family to take home, sketched by an artist, while through “ Arabic Calligraphy” workshop on 26 July, they learn the different Arabic fonts and get your name written in Arabic calligraphy. In the workshop titled “ Face Painting, to be organized on 27 July, children will get a colorful Nakhool character face painting or their favourite cartoon character.

Nakhool Tent Theater Stage will also continue to host its daily and weekly live shows, beginning with “Puppet Show”, masterminded by puppet theatre specialist, Ramadan Yousif,  presenting a series of educational and entertaining puppet shows inspired by the local heritage, animal stories, great adventures, folk tales and traditional games. This Puppet Show will carry on until the end of the festival at 6:50 pm.  On 25 July,“ Storytelling” workshop will take the little ones into magic world of amazing characters and breath-taking events.  On 26 July at 8:00 pm, a music evening animated by Dar Qalali for Traditional Music Band,  while on 27 July the Bahrain Police Music Band will  present its weekly  variety of musical shows that blend between military music and authentic traditional Bahraini music at 5:55 pm, followed by  Mohammad Bin Faris Music Band evening of music at 8:00 pm.
