H.E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities, held a remote online meeting, on 11 June 2020, with the CEO of the International Participation Operations at Expo 2020 Dubai, Mr. Omar Shehadeh, Chief International Participants Officer at Expo 2020, to follow up with the latest construction and organizational developments related to the Bahrain National Pavilion held in this international major event.

H.E Shaikha Mai expressed her gratitude and appreciation to Mr. Omar Shehadeh and Dubai Expo 2020 work team for their keenness to guarantee the best and most suitable conditions for countries to make this event a major successful achievement though their brilliantly organized Expo Dubai 2020 pavilions, looking forward to visit the site field as soon as possible, and her willingness to pay a visit to Bahrain’s pavilion, scheduled to finish all works and preparations at the end of this year.

In addition, H.E lauded Dubai Emirate’s handling for the exceptional circumstances after the outbreak of this world pandemic, the outstanding strategy reflected by a virtual steering committee meeting of representatives of the countries taking part in Expo 2020 to consult on the impact that Covid-19 is having on the run-up to the mega event which is due to open in 2121. Indeed,    Preparations for Expo 2020 Dubai are continuing with detailed operation plans being finalized as organizers face up to the challenge posed by the new coronavirus outbreak.

H.E also asserted that the Kingdom of Bahrain will celebrate the end of Pearling Path project next year, a UNESCO World Heritage List Site, an event that will be certainly promoted by Bahrain pavilion at Dubai Expo 2020, given its importance as a major testimony to a very essential chapter in Bahrain’s history and the region as whole. The pavilion will also exhibit other significant genuine cultural and heritage assets that enrich the originality of diversity and multiculturalism in Bahrain.
 
Mr. Omar Shehadeh, for his part, voiced his constant readiness to accompany field visits and participating pavilions onsite services, helping all countries that are taking part to make this event a brilliant success. Mr. Shehadeh reasserted the working teams’ direct involvement and constant follow-up efforts with regard to the latest developments and their supervision of the smallest details.
