Shaping Clay Workshop for Kinds

Al Jasra Handicrafts Center is organizing a workshop on Clay Shaping for kids. Pottery is one of the most historical famous Bahraini industries that has been practiced since ancient times, with archaeological research indicating its spread for thousands of years, due to the availability of materials suitable for this industry locally.  The variety of pottery products presented is a model for the development of the Bahraini craftsman who imbibed the workmanship from their ancestors.

Workshop topics include:

•  The kids will be learning about the types of clay and the tools used in shaping.
• The kids will be learning the methods of kneading and preparing the clay.
• Learning how to make a piece of clay.

 Workshop Outcomes:

•  The kids creates a work of art using the slide formation method.
• Pottery coloring and learning how clay pieces are burnt in the kln.

 Age: 9 -14

Registration is limited to those who have been vaccinated and recovered from the Covid-19 and have the Green Shield.
