The Art of Video Production

Learn how to create and produce high quality, professional videos to communicate to diverse audiences for various purposes. This workshop is targeted for who wants to learn about video communication using Adobe Premiere Pro, a professional editing software. Participants will learn the process of creating quality videos from pre-production (planning), production (filming), and post-production (editing). Different shot types and sizes will be explored for the purpose of enhancing visual communication. Students will also learn about good film composition and the power of storytelling all while using their Smartphones as their main video camera. In the post-production phase of this workshop, students will learn the basics of Adobe Premiere Pro software to edit videos that could be used for the web or social media.

 

Participants should bring the following materials:

  1. A Smartphone that takes high resolution video - iPhone 7 or latest
  2. Laptop Windows or Mac OS with at least 8GB of RAM 16GB or 32GB
  3. Self-procure a one-month license for Adobe Premiere software (11 BD) on laptop from Adobe Creative Cloud: https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud.html
  4. Headphones that connect to the laptop

 

Course Outcomes:

  1. Edit video with Adobe Premiere Pro software at a basic level
  2. Film and produce a short video story in a “production team”
  3. Incorporate different shot sizes with video cameras
  4. Enhance visual storytelling skills
  5. Use good composition techniques that engage the audience
  6. Understand the importance of each phase of video creation: pre-production, production and post-production
