Crochet Workshop

Al Jasra Handicrafts Center is holding Introduction to Crochet Workshop. In fact, Crochet also known as knitting, is winding a thread with small needles that have a hooked shape known as yarns, which are usually wool, silk, or cotton. It's a favorite technique for many needle workers, because its yarn stitches allow you to create beautiful home decor accessories from tablecloths and bedspreads to doilies and delicate edgings. This versatile technique also produces fashion items such as vests, sweaters, mittens and hats, scarves as well as a myriad of adorable items just for babies.

Workshop topics include:

  • Brief about crochet types
  • Identify hooks and yarn types
  • Explain basic crochet stitches, their names, and symbols, and how to read different patterns design
  • You will learn how to hold crochet hook
  • Learning basic stitches
  • How to clean up the work after it is finished
  • Learn how to hold the needle and thread properly and how to sew the string stitch
  • Learn the stitch of the padding, half column, and the column
  • Sewing a group work of a doll.
