Boat Making Workshop

Al Jasra Handicrafts Center organizes a Boat Making Workshop. This craft is one of the traditional industries that the people of the Kingdom of Bahrain have been famous for since ancient times, and which have been associated with them as a nation that lives on the sea and its sailors go to different ports of the world. They are the ships that they excelled in in their manufacture, so their names and uses have varied, including Al-Banoush, Al-Shuai, owls, mule and other species that are used in fishing, pearl diving, and transporting passengers and goods.

The shipbuilding industry was concentrated in the cities of Manama and Muharraq, the most famous of which was found in Al Naeem and Ras Al Rumman. As for Muharraq, this industry was concentrated in the coastal area facing the city, where craftsmen called Al Qallaf practiced it.
