Ensemble Contraste

The French Ensemble Contraste presents a variety of musical genres including classical, tango, musical comedy, jazz, and more in a thrilling musical evening.

Artist’s bio:

Formed since 2000, the French Enbsemble Contraste is composed of the finest virtuoso classical musicians of their generation. Since its formation, Constraste aspired to open up musical genres by performing a variety of repertoires all within the same concert, which resulted in continuously provoking the audience’s curiosity and astonishment. 

Known for their diversity and spontaneity, the ensemble are known for incorporating classical, tango, musical comedy, jazz, contemporary compositions and more into their performances.

Following their directors’ approach, Johan Farjot and Arnaud Thorette, the ensemble decided to reinvent classical concerts by making the audience central to their approach, which turned their concerts into full on theatrical performances.

So far, they have appeared in over twenty countries, as well as several major French concert venues, in addition to countless collaborations with different outstanding artists, mezzo-sopranos and composers.
