H.E. Shaikha Mai receives Diyar al-Muharraq CEO

H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa, Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) president, received today the CEO of the Diyar Al-Muharraq Company Dr. Maher Al-Shaer. They discussed enhancing cooperation by using available potential to bring about joint cultural and tourism achievements and which will boost the tourism sector in the country as Manama celebrates 2015 under the theme ‘Our Year of Heritage’.


H.E highlighted the importance of stepping up joint cooperation to promote the cultural momentum in Bahrain, describing the effort as a collective responsibility which brings the public and private parties together. H.E lauded the crucial role of the private sector to promote cultural activity and cement the national identity, describing Diyar Al-Muharraq as an outstanding urban model. In this context, H.E lauded the Diyar Al-Muharraq Project as being a modern urban project that provides a unique housing and tourism experience.


Dr. Al-Shaer stressed the pivotal role of urbanism in promoting national cultural identity, hailing BACA-led efforts in enriching cultural life in Bahrain. He looked forward to cooperating with BACA officials to set up joint projects through investing in Bahrain's cultural infrastructure. Dr. Maher Al-Shaer also praised the growing urban investment in the region.
