05 December 2016 "Little Island big fort, A Children's Book to be Launched Tomorrow

Bahrain Authority For Culture & Antiquities is launching the children's book "little island big fort", First Book for author Haya Isa Alkhalifa on Saturday 3rd Of December, at 4:00 PM at Bahrain National Museum, The event is opened to the public, where the book will be available for purchase and visitors will be able to meet the author, paper engineer Renee Jablow, and illustrator Pia drent, and have their books signed. There will be activities for the children including a pop-up workshop where children can re-create a pop-up scene from the book.

Haya Al Khalifa is a writer and documentary photographer living in Bahrain. Her debut children’s book is a pop-up adventure about a young Bahraini boy and his red balloon flying high above Bahrain, it was important for Haya to create a story set in Bahrain for Bahraini children to experience an adventure that takes place in a familiar setting. The boy’s journey is a visualization of the relative size of objects in our environment, helping children analyze the relationship between these objects, and better understand the scale of the world they live in.
