British Parliamentary Delegation Visits National Museum

A delegation from the United Kingdom headed by Rehman Chishti, who are currently on a visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, toured Bahrain National Museum where they were welcomed by H.E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammad Al-Khalifa, President of Bahrain’s Authority for Culture & Antiquities. During the visit, the British delegation toured the different sections of the museum, which includes three halls devoted to archaeology and the 4000 years-old ancient civilization of the Dilmun, while two other halls depict Bahrain's culture, lifestyle and handicrafts. The delegation also enjoyed the exhibition Pearling: Testimony of an Island Economy”, which is scheduled to be complete in 2018, and a key milestone of Muharraq, celebrated as Capital of Islamic Culture in 2018.

The British delegation also attended the world-renowned ballet dance” Fuego”, kicking off Culture Authority’s program for National Day celebrations during this month with 17 events. The UK parliamentary delegation visit comes as part of the mutual historical relations between both countries and at an invitation by Bahraini Foreign Minister.
