H.E Shaikha Mai Meets Chinese Culture Minister

H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities, has met with the Chinese Culture Minister, Luo Shugang. H.E Shaikha Mai and the minister discussed the renewal of cultural agreements between the two countries, as well as boosting cultural cooperation.

Both parties also discussed the previous plans enhancing cooperation opportunities between both countries, especially with regard to the Chinese Cultural Center in Bahrain. They also discussed the Chinese support and contribution to sponsor Bahrain National Theater events, hosting a Chinese cultural exhibitions, support to events celebrating Muharraq as the Capital of Islamic culture in 2018 and the possibility of setting a TV channel that would enhance the promotion of arts and literature between both countries. The Minister of Culture affirmed that the cultural exchange and openness to other cultures has become vital in an age where all boundaries among countries had been removed and it was important for continued intellectual and cultural connection among nations. The Chinese Minister of Culture praised the role of the Bahraini civilization in history and the exceptional cultural movement. Chinese Culture Minister also praised the efforts deployed by BACA to support culture events, protect archaeology and heritage monuments and preserve the national identity, affirming that the new agreement signed between both parties will consolidate cultural, intellectual and art relations between the two countries.

Worth to mention that Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities organized many cultural events and activities, in cooperation with China, such as Chinese Culture Days, art exhibitions and the Road of Silk exhibition, Spring of Culture events, theater and music concerts and shows.
