H.E Shaikha Mai Receives Chinese Ambassador Joint cultural relations discussed

H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammad Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities (BACA), received on 19 September 2017, the Chinese Ambassador to Bahrain, H.E Shi Jin Hong.

H.E Shaikha Mai welcomed the Chinese Ambassador and briefed him about the major cultural events, art shows and exhibitions planned by BACA for the next coming months, including the Chinese Culture Days to be held between 27 September -5 October 2017, marking the Chinese 68th National Day. Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities (BACA) is organizing these Chinese music and culture days, in cooperation with the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Chinese Embassy in Bahrain, as part of its strategy to strengthen and reinforce cultural relations between the kingdom of Bahrain and People's Republic of China.

His Excellency ambassador Shi Jin Hon, for his part, praised the cultural cooperation between Bahrain and China, lauding the role of BACA in planning and producing joint cultural works that best represent and reflect the culture and civilization of both countries. The Chinese ambassador presented H.E Shaikha Mai bitn Mohammad Al-Khalifa with Xi Jinping’s book : The Governance of China, published by Foreign Languages Press in Chinese, English, French, Russian, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Japanese and distributed worldwide.

Worth mentioning that the “ Chinese Culture Days” will kick off on 27 September 2017 with The Macao Chinese Orchestra performing an amazing concert at Bahrain National Theatre at 8:00 pm. Orange Sea Breeze: South China Song and Dance Ensemble will mesmerize the public on 3 October at the Cultural Hall at 8pm, while on 4 October the Hong Kong Harmonica Association will bring to the Kingdom of Bahrain magical angelic music. Luminescent and Xin Xiang by Passoverdance, a Hong Kong dance organization dedicated to fostering and developing dance in Hong Kong, will close down the curtains of this Chinese cultural and music festival events.
