H.E Attends the Inauguration of Shaikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Centre, Kuwait

 

H.E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammad Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities, attended, on 5 February 2018, the inauguration ceremony of Shaikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Centre, held under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait, Minister of Amiri Diwan and Chairman of the Executive Committee of Cultural Centers, ministers, officials, diplomats and very high profile culture figures and personalities.

Speaking about her participation in this ceremony, H.E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammad Al Khalifa said “ we attended the opening ceremony of Jaber Al Sabah Culture Center in 2016, a year Kuwait was celebrated as the Capital of Islamic Culture. Today, we are proud to witness the opening of another important milestone in cultural, scientific, historic, artistic and theatrical movements, reflecting the historical and cultural role of Kuwait”. H.E added saying “ We value His Highness the Amir Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait, God protect Him, and his efforts, highly. His relentless efforts to develop the cultural infrastructure, not only locally but all over the region, are remarkable. We praise His Highness keenness to put Kuwait and GCC countries on world stage , among most developed countries, especially with regard to culture”.

Shaikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Centre, a world class museum district and the largest cultural center in Kuwait, in Shaab area, includes museums of natural history, sciences, technology, Arab and Islamic sciences, space and arts. It also includes a theater, information center, restaurants and cafes. The center won the LEAF Award for the best design last September .
