H.E Shaikha Mai Receives Out-Going Japanese Ambassador

H.E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities (BACA), received on 21 January 2018, the Japanese outgoing Ambassador to Bahrain Japanese H.E Mr. Kiyoshi Asako and discussed bilateral relations and cooperation mainly in the cultural field and ways to enhance these historic relations.

The President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and& Antiquities (BACA), H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa stressed keenness to build bridges of communication between the Kingdom of Bahrain and friendly countries, praising the constructive cooperation between the two sides and lauding the ambassador’s role in boosting the bilateral cultural exchange. H.E highlighted the Japanese cultural presence in Bahrain through the annual and multiple cultural events and activities where Japan is constantly present. The Kingdom of Bahrain, in return, was present in Japan last year through Mohammad Bin Faris Music Band, performing amazing Sout art concerts.

H.E President of Bahrain’s Culture Authority also expressed optimism that the Bahraini-Japanese cultural cooperation would pave the way for the development and establishment of the permanent headquarters of the Arab Regional Center for World Heritage in Sar, Bahrain, which was designed by the Japanese architect Tdao Ando.

Ambassador Kiyoshi Asako, for his part, stressed the role of culture in promoting increased understanding between Japan and Bahrain, renowned for its unique openness and diversity. The ambassador lauded the cultural activities staged by the BACA, commending the friendship relations between the two countries. He expressed interest in holding projects that meet the aspirations of both friendly peoples, wishing a bright future for the BACA programmes and projects.
