Culture Authority Participates in Arab Delegations Coordination Efforts Meeting, In Preparation for Cairo International Book Fair

Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities, represented by Mr Hani Jamal, Director of the National Theater, has taken part in coordination meeting on Arab participation in the upcoming 50th edition of Cairo International Book Fair, given that the Arab League will be the Guest of Honour of 2019 edition. The meeting was held at the Arab League headquarters, Cairo Egypt, on 15 July 2018.

Indeed, the Arab League Council of Arab Ministries of Foreign Affairs had previously mandated the Arab League Secretariat to take all necessary measures to prepare the Arab countries’ participation plan during this 50th edition of Cairo International Book Fair, the formation and selection of organizing scientific and technical committees, and the coordination efforts with all concerned authorities and parties. The Arab participation in the upcoming 50th edition of Cairo International Book Fair will feature different cultural activities, such as poetry readings, festivals, book signings, panel discussions, readings, talks, launches and workshops other literary events. Arab pavilions taking part in Cairo Book Fair will also present the latest and the best scientific, literary and culture publications and releases.

Worth to mention that Bahrain was the guest of honour of the 47th edition of Cairo International Book Fair in 2015, presenting its latest culture and literature publications at the Bahraini pavilion, as well as evenings of music, poetry readings and panel discussions and forums by many Bahraini artists and intellectuals.
