H.E Receives Urban Planning and Development Authority’s CEO

H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities, received, on 5 March 2018, H.E Shaikh Nayef bin Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the CEO of the Urban Planning and Development Authority. Both parties discussed mutual cooperation possibilities for enhancing sustainable development in the Kingdom of Bahrain with regard to culture and historical achievements, shedding light on the latest cultural projects underway in the kingdom, especially in Muharraq.

H.E Shaikha Mai welcomed guest and lauded the constructive cooperation between Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities and the Urban Planning and Development Authority, arguing that such cooperation is fruitful on every aspect. Indeed, such close cooperation would enhance the cultural urban scene in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

H.E also argued that Bahrain’s historical achievements are the fruits of efforts deployed by official governmental institutions and private sector entities and corporations, heads of multilateral and bilateral institutions to encourage greater cooperation between them. H.E added that BACA relies heavily on the solid partnership with the Urban Planning and Development Authority for the implementation of huge cultural infrastructure projects.

The meeting also discussed ways and means of providing necessary facilities to implement different projects, such as Pearling: Testimony of Island Economy in Muharraq, which is celebrated as the Capital of Islamic Culture 2018.

H.E Shaikh Nayef bin Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, for his part, lauded Bahrain’s rich cultural scene and deeply-rooted history, praising BACA’s efforts to invigorate the cultural momentum in the kingdom, and its efforts to preserve and safeguard Bahrain cultural heritage, yielding many positive outcomes regionally and internationally. H.E Shaikh Nayef also expressed Bahrain Economic Board’s constant readiness to cooperate with BACA and contribute in the cultural and tourist development in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
