H.E Shaikha Hala Receives Assistant Undersecretary for Radio and Television Affairs
H.E Shaikha Hala Bint Mohammad Al-Khalifa, Director General of Culture Directorate at Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities, received on 16 May 2018, Assistant Undersecretary for Radio and Television Affairs, Mr. Abdullah Khalid Al-Dossary, and Dr. Lulwa Hassan Budalama, Information Counselor at Information affairs Ministry.
During the meeting, H.E Shaikha Hala highlighted the crucial role played by the local audio-visual media to promote the bright image of the Bahrain and its people, consolidating the spirit of goodwill, brotherliness, friendship and national unity. H.E reviewed with her guest the main events planned by BACA for the moment, namely festive activities for Eid al Fitr and Bahrain Summer Festival, scheduled to kick off after Eid and will run for two months. Preparations to host the 42nd meeting of the World Heritage Committee by the end of next June, “ Oral Heritage” Project, shedding light on oral culture memories, Bahrain TV interviews with prominent figures, popular customs and traditions transmitted and the effect of that on the Bahraini society through interviews done by Bahrain TV, were also among the issues discussed during the meeting. Both parties also discussed cooperation between BACA and Bahrain TV with regard to the coverage of future Culture Authority’s planned events and showing series of “ Oral Heritage” Project on Bahrain TV.
Mr. Abdullah Khalid Al-Dossary, for his part, lauded the efforts deployed by Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities to enhance and boost the authentic cultural values of the Bahraini society, given the central role of culture in the development of nations and civilizations.
