H.E Shaikha Mai Receives Saudi Commission For Tourism & Antiquities Delegation

H.E. Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities has received on 21 May 2018, Dr. Ali Al Ghabban, Vice-President of SCTH and General Supervisor of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Program for Caring of Kingdom’s Cultural Heritage and Dr. Mashari Al Naim, General Director of National Built Heritage Centre Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities to discuss ways and means of enhancing mutual cooperation between two brotherly kingdoms.

During the meeting, H.E has asserted that the brotherly historic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are an exemplary model of sincere and deep relations where the two countries and the two leaders are bind by a long common history and a march full of giving and development. Indeed, they stem from the bonds of fraternity, kinship and blood relations and have their roots deeply embedded in history and they have evolved to reach maximum extent of love, cooperation and development. H.E also lauded the fruitful cooperation efforts between Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities and Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, arguing that Bahrain and Saudi Arabia share the same vision with regard to enhancing national heritage and historical endowments in order to creative a challenging cultural scene.

H.E briefed her s about the latest major cultural events, art shows and exhibitions planned by BACA for June and July, adding that Bahrain is stepping up preparations to host the 42nd meeting of the World Heritage Committee chaired by Bahrain, the launch of Bahrain Summer Festival in Muharraq, a city celebrated as the Capital of Islamic Culture 2018.

Dr. Ali Al Ghabban and Dr. Mashari Al Naim thanked H.E for the meeting and praised the cultural cooperation between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, lauding the role of BACA in planning and producing joint cultural works that best represent and reflect the culture and civilization of both countries. They also voiced both Saudi commissions’ readiness to cooperate with Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities (BACA) to participate in any cultural event or project that would strengthen and reinforce cultural relations between the kingdom of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
