Emirati Malid Troup at the Cultural Hall

The Cultural Hall hosted, on 28 May 2018, a very fascinating popular genuine heritage music concert, titled “ Emirati Malid” performed by UAE’s Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development Band. H.E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammad Al-Khalifa, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities and Her Excellency Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi is the Minister of Culture in UAE.

Speaking for the occasion, H.E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammad Al-Khalifa said “ reviving our cultural heritage is our way to celebrate our genuine deeply-rooted historical common assets that we share with our brothers in the GCC countries”. H.E added saying “ The United Arab Emirates is at the heart of our cultural scene tonight, whereby we can enjoy a very authentic show “ Emirati Malid”, which has always been connected to our ancestors memories and our national identities”. H.E also argued that UAE and Bahrain share many common cultural and social values, in addition to the very special relationships that cement the two brotherly peoples and countries.

Indeed, the “ Emirati Malid” is considered a popular religious celebration performed usually on the anniversary of the Prophet's birth each year, the memories of Isra and Miraj, the night of the half of Sha'baan, and also in weddings and vows.

Worth to mention that “ Emirati Malid” event coincides with Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities’ celebrations of Muharraq as the Capital of Islamic Culture 2018 program, presenting an array of amazing events during the whole year through culture seasons, annual festivals and exceptional special events.
