H.E Shaikha Mai Attends Arab Arts Festival, Beijing, H.E : China is deploying strenuous efforts to develop culture

H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al- Khalifa, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities is taking part at 4th Arab Art Festival, which is being held in Beijing, China. The festival kicked off on 21 October 2018 in the presence of many Arab countries’ tourism and culture high officials, as well as media and diplomats from China and around the world.

Commenting on her 4th participation in this festival, H.E said “ We are pleased to see art playing its natural role, that is connecting cultures and peoples, making all countries equal with regard to the magic universal beauty of art. Arab Arts Festival held here in China does that.” H E added “ We appreciate the efforts deployed by China to develop the cultural scene regionally and internationally, confirming, thus, our satisfaction with the tremendous progress achieved in our China-Bahrain relationship, which has contributed to the organization of many successful common culture events and programmes in arts and theater”.

In this respect, on the sidelines of the festival, H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al- Khalifa met with Mr. Luo Shugang, Chinese minister of Culture and Tourism and attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition, celebrating the 10th edition of ‘ Feeling the Souls of China’ event exhibition at the National Museum of China in Beijing.

Worth to mention that China had previously announced the start of 4th Arab Art Festival in Chengdu Museum in Chengdu, Sichuan province last July until October 2018, scheduling many activities under the theme of “Connect with Road, Connect with Heart”. The art festival is organized by the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sichuan People's Government and the League of Arab States.
