During his lecture, Jassim bin Harban highlighted the immensely rich heritage of local Bahraini women’s songs, folklore songs and dances as part of socio-economic conditions that molded this art form. The identity of this oral art by women was deeply influenced by the geographical location, especially the Bedouin culture, farms and fields and the sea. Bin Harban highlighted the different types of women’s songs, such pearl diving songs, tambourines songs, love drumming rhythms etc.
