Coordination Meeting Between BACA and Islamic Development Bank ( Jeddah), Pearling Path Project Inauguration Discussed

H.E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammad Al-Khalifa, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities held, on 3 September 2018, a coordination meeting with a delegation of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) of Jeddah. The meeting highlighted the latest works’ development carried out on site, in the presence of BACA’s team work.

H.E welcomed her guests, praising the IDB's support for cultural infrastructure projects and activating the concept of social responsibility and joint work with social institutions. BACA President also hailed the IDB’s support for the Pearl Road project, which will be opened next November under the royal patronage to coincide with Bahrain’s celebrations of Muharraq as Capital of Islamic Culture. Indeed, Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities has planned to inaugurate Pearling Path Visitor Center by the end of November 2018 under the High Patronage His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, May God Protect Him. The official ceremony will coincide with the meeting of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic world in Muharraq, celebrated this year as the Capital of Islamic Culture 2018. A waterfront lac facing Bab la Bahrain will also inaugurated as decreed by the Ministry of Culture’ contest in 2012, when Manama was celebrated as the Capital of Arab Culture.

The IDB’s delegation commended H.E strenuous efforts to enhance the cultural activities in Bahrain, expressing admiration for the wonderful work undergone by Bahrain’s Authority for Culture & Antiquities to make Bahrain a world culture hub, leading to the latest developments of this Pearling Path, in Muharraq. They lauded the great efforts done by Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities in this regard.

After the meeting, IDB’s delegation reviewed the latest work developments on Pearling Path site through a permanent exhibition showcased at Bahrain National Museum, providing a mini stereotype of the project and the all related details.
