On the Occasion of Bahraini Women’s Day, all-female group “Hunna”, Oud Night at Bahrain National Museum

 

Bahrain National Museum hosted  on 1st  December 2019 an “Oud Night”  For them we play” starring oud player Saad Jawad, accompanied by all-female group “Hunna”,  the first music oud player female players in the world. The concert was attended by huge audience. This event was held on the occasion of Bahraini Women’s Day, and as part of Bahrain Culture Authority’s  National Day Celebrations throughout December.

The group presented a selection of the best  passionate oud rhythms and music compositions, taking the audience into magic journey of beautiful music and gorgeous words, travelling on the wings of music heritage of Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia, Saudia Arabia, Iraq, Spain, Italy and France.  Not content to stick to the norm, They brought  a funky edge to both traditional and popular Arabic music with their Ouds, their  gentle, soothing voice greatly compliment their  out-of-the-box style and it’s  this unique combination of Muwashahat and modern beats that has an uncanny ability to mesmerize audiences.

“Hunna” is an international project established in the Kingdom of Bahrain, created by Saad Mahmood Jawad, and includes the first all-female group who solely specialize in playing the oud.
