H.E Shaikha Hala Participates in a Panel  Discussion On

 

H.E Shaikha Hala Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Director General of the Culture and Arts Directorate, Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities participated in a panel discussion on "Culture & diversity: at the heart of a new identity in cities", held at Warehouse421, in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on 21 February 2019. Indeed, the vent was organized  by THINKERS & DOERS in co-production with the French Institute in the UAE and in collaboration with Warehouse421. H.E Noora Al Kaabi, Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, Her excellency Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, other high officials and lovers of culture attended also the event.

H.E Shaikha Hala said during her intervention that culture plays a vital role in cities’ development, bringing about a vivid lively spirit into the streets and alleyways, adding that work dedication and clear vision are the main objectives behind any culture action. H.E stressed the importance of culture infrastructure in Arab countries for the development of societies, pointing out to the crucial role of arts in the general cultural scene richness. Indeed, arts enhance social relations and ties, uplift cultural and arts’ output initiatives, as well as help promote cities in creative way, highlighting the importance of enacting the different means and tools to make art and culture closer to all social categories.           

Speakers sat the panel discussion included also Dr. Khaled Alawadi Assistant Professor, Khalifa University & Curator of 2018 UAE National Pavillon, Venice Architecture Biennale, Abu Dhabi, Ms Vilma Jurkute, Director of Alserkal Avenue, Dubai, while the moderator was  Mr. Sofiane Si Merabet, Founder of The Confused Arab platform & Karta consultancy, Paris- Dubai.
