Registration Still Open  for a Field Visit Tour,  To Wadi Sail

 

Reaffirming the importance of the strong role played by the  civil society, which is considered as an essential partner to enhance its efforts in the preservation of archaeological heritage sites,  Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities is planning a field visit tour to Wadi Al-Sail burial mounds, on 1 February 2019. The aim of the visit is to discover the results of the archaeological excavations of the Japanese team, made up of experts, specialists in excavations and archeological heritage research, at Wadi Al-Sail site.

Wadi al Sail burial mounds site engulfs also Early Dilmun-era graves and tumuli, whereby a number of 548 tumuli are scattered over a wide area which is interspersed with several valleys that illustrate the original landscape. The Early Type mounds are typically flat and occur in low density.

Worth to mention that one member of Japanese Expedition team will explain,  answer and present any enquiries with regard to discoveries, artifacts  by  public during the  field tour  in English.  Registration for participation in the Wadi Al-Sail Field visit is open for  those (18 years and above) via BACA’s website : www.culture.gov.bh
