Nakhool Tent 1st Week Events Program attracting 7,000 Visitors,Children & Family at the rendez-vous

 

One week now since the start of 11th Edition of  Bahrain Summer Festival events, Nakhool Tent, held this year near Salman Bin Ahmad Al Fatih Fort, Riffa, has attracted 7,000 visitors all classes and age categories united, offering them a series of entertaining, educational and cultural activities. Nakhool Tent is open from 5:00 pm-9:00 pm on a daily basis except on Sundays.

Bahrain Summer Festival has organized a series of events at Nakhool Tent, such as  Story-Telling, Puppet Show, a music evening animated by Bin Harban Traditional Music Band, the Bahrain Police Music Band presenting a variety of musical shows that blend between military music and authentic traditional Bahraini music, as well as Mohammad Bin Faris Music Band. In addition, the festival also programmed a selection of activities at the weekend, such Portrait Sketch, Caricature, Arabic Calligraphy, Face Painting, as well as educational workshops, like Video Games Design,  Electronics and Inventions, Protect our Environment From Plastic,  Japanese Traditional Candy Art;  the art of candy sculpture “Amezaiku”, a traditional Japanese folk art of sculpting candy into a variety of shapes such as animals and birds, Wooden Handicrafts and Sign Language Basics. Moreover, the Cultural Hall hosted last week the dance show’ Step Afrika”, organized in cooperation with the American Embassy in Manama, which attracted many lovers of the art dance.

 This week  Nakhool Tent will welcome the little ones with a variety of activities, offering  2 - 4 years old, the “Soft Play Area”  which is a dedicated activity zone for our younger visitors, offering them a space to run around freely and be part of the fun at Nakhool Tent. They will also have the opportunity to play “ Soccer”, organized in collaboration with Super Soccer Academy, which will be an opportunity for football lovers to pick up a variety of football skills and compete in friendly matches. “ Kids Market” is another amazing experience for children, implemented by creating a live market experience for children, they get the opportunity to gain practical knowledge of buying, selling and marketing their own handicrafts as well as a variety of other items.

In the area of “Fun Games”, children will enjoy a series of interactive funny activities, and educational activities to develop the participant’s confidence and engage them into enhancing knowledge character and creativity, while “ Children Magazine” corner, organized in collaboration with Watani Magazine - Ministry of Interior-which
contains a variety of activities for young children that educate them about the duties that we as citizens have towards our country. During the festival, the magazine will be distributed in Nakhool Tent.

In addition to these events and activities organized during the whole week, lovers Nakhool Tent little ones will have a rendez-vous with a set of workshops planned during the first three days of the week (1-3 July), such as “Electronics and Inventions”, (for 6-15 years old),  organized in collaboration with: Ministry of Youth and Sport Affairs, which is described as a creative-making environment that blends electronics and code. Exploring electrical programming and engineering by creating interactive games. “ Recycling” workshop, organized in collaboration with Supreme Council For Environment, will teach the children how to protect the environment through the reuse of used materials. “ Puppet Making” for 9-15 years old, organized  in collaboration with Isa Cultural Centre will show them how to make finger puppets using simple everyday materials. Moreover, Nakhool tent, in collaboration with the  Turkish Embassy, presents “Ebru Marbling” workshop, offering kids the opportunity to learn the traditional decorative art of Ebru from Turkey, and the technique used to create this art form, while  instructor  Wassan Al-Sawad, will teach children how to prepare molds to make different shapes of Dilmun seals. They will then paint them creatively and use them to decorate several items.

From 4 to 6 July 2019, Nakhool Tent will host also a series of workshops and events, such as  “Build your Electric Fan”, which is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sport Affairs and addressed to 6-11 years old teaching them how to build an electrical fan and design operating series circuit fans.  “Protect our Environment From Plastic” workshop, organized in collaboration with the Supreme Council For Environment will show children how to identify plastic damage and how to minimize it through transforming plastic waste into valuable things.

The workshop titled “ Robot Engineering”,  for 6-15 years, which is  organized In collaboration with: Abu Taleb for Training Center, will teach them the techniques  of  programming, robotics and engineering using Lego to make moving and speaking robots, while “Mask Painting & Design” will teach them  how to create masks by using etching techniques, a great way to develop fine motor skills and awaken the artist inside.

Nakhool Tent will also host may shows, starting with “Puppet Show”, presented by puppet theatre specialist, Ramadan Yousif,  presenting a series of educational and entertaining puppet shows inspired by the local heritage, animal stories, great adventures, folk tales and traditional games. This Puppet Show will carry on until the end of the festival at 6:50 pm. During the event “ Story- Telling”, which will be held on 4 July at 8:00 pm, children will be taken on an exciting journey into different worlds and diverse personalities through storytelling, in addition to a number of enjoyable activities.

On 5 July 2019, a new series of events will be organized, starting with Dar Shabab Al Hidd music show at 8:00 pm, and Police Music Band on 6 July, Bahrain Police Music Band presenting a variety of musical shows that blend between military music and authentic traditional Bahraini music at 5:55 pm.  While s Mohammad Bin Faris Music Band concert will be held at 8:00 pm at the same day.

As part of “ Weekend Activities”, Nakhool Tent will also host “ Portrait Sketch ( caricature), on 4 July from 5:00 pm-9:00 pm, Arabic Calligraphy workshop, on 5 July, and “ Face Painting” on 6 July, at the same time.

Coinciding with Bahrain Culture Authority’s year-long theme “Year of Celebrations 2019,which is dedicated to celebrate Bahrain’s historical achievements, Bahrain Summer festival will  present its usual   range of artistic activities and creative workshops for family and children in Nakhool Tent near  for a whole month ( until 27 July From 5:00 pm-9:00 pm) on a daily basis except on Sundays.
