H.E Shaikha Hala Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Director-General of Culture and Arts at the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, welcomed on Wednesday 20 November 2019, a delegation from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), headed by Mr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Al-Shaikh, Commissioner-General of the Council’s pavilion at EXPO 2020 Dubai.

The meeting comes as part of the continuous efforts by both parties to follow up of organizing the Gulf Pavilion at the EXPO 2020, an opportunity for to demonstrate the unique collaboration of GCC countries, shedding lights on GCC common cultures and historical civilizations.

H.E Shaikha Hala Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa said that GCC countries share a common historical heritage and try to develop and promote culture in the region, adding that Dubai Expo 2020 is a window open to the world to showcase  the incredible achievements that have been made through working together, reflecting the modern historical development of the GCC countries, their special bond, cultural diversity, common qualities and shared vision.

Mr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Al-Shaikh, Commissioner-General of the Council’s pavilion at EXPO 2020 Dubai, thanked H.E Shaikha Hala Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, adding that the international  achievements and recognitions made by  Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities during the recent years would certainly have a very positive impact on GCC pavilion at the expo, promoting effectively culture perspectives in the  Arab and Gulf countries. 
 
The meeting also discussed many other topics related to the contents and components of GCC Pavilion at Dubai Expo 2020, as well as ways and means of making it a bright success as reflected by its theme ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’. Dubai Expo 2020 will provide a common platform for GCC and Arab countries showcase their products, respective cultures, achievements and  future to millions visitors of the expo. Dubai Expo 2020's host venue,  Dubai Trade Centre-Jebel Ali – is  a 438-hectare site, and it was designed to guarantee the best visiting experience for visitors and participants alike.
