H.E Shaikha Hala Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Director-General of Culture and Arts at the Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities welcomed earlier on Monday 23 September 2019, a delegation from the Institute of Oriental Studies in Pristina, Kosovo, headed by Dr. Mohamed Mofako, Director of the Institute. The meeting discussed ways of mutual cultural exchange between the two countries, as part of an existing cultural project in collaboration between both entities.‏

H.E Shaikha Hala bint Mohammed Al Khalifa said that cultural cooperation greatly influences the world around us like a bridge connecting peoples and civilizations, and getting them close to each other. A  window open to the whole world, Bahrain  welcomes the Institute of Oriental Studies in Pristina, Kosovo, and hails the constructive constant cooperation between Culture Authority and the institute to enrich the cultural events and activities in both countries, H.E added.

Cooperation between both parties will include a series of lectures, the translation of a selection of publications and poems by Bahraini writers and poets, after meetings between Dr. Mohamed Mofako  and  Dr. Isa Memishi, Director of Oriental Studies Department at Pristina University and a number of Bahraini writers, intellectuals and poets will be arranged to decide which poetry or literary collections should be translated in the Balkan region, in order to introduce the modern Bahraini literature and rich cultural production.

Dr. Mohamed Mofako, for his part, expressed thanks and appreciation to H.E Shaikha Hala Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, and to H.E Shaikha Mai, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities, for their relentless efforts to enhance dialogue among cultures and civilizations between Bahrain and the rest of the world. Dr. Mohamed Mofako also lauded the fervent cultural scene in Bahrain, hoping that mutual cooperation will result in fruitful cultural projects that enrich the culture scene in Kosovo and enhance Bahrain’s presence in the Balkan region.

 The mutual cultural cooperation between Culture Authority and Institute of Oriental Studies in Pristina, Kosovo will cover also a series lectures, such as  the lecture by Dr. Mohamed Mofako on “Coffee from Yemen to Bosnia: Culture & Identity”, to be held tomorrow, 25 September 2019, at the Khalifiya Library, Muharraq at 7:00 pm. Worth to mention that Bahrain National Museum, as part of this cooperation,  had hosted previously (22 September), a lecture  lecture on the “ Translation of Arabic Literature into Albanian Language from Imru' al-Qais bin Hujr al-Kindi to  Mustafa Khalifa” by Dr. Isa Memishi,
