World Tourism Day Celebration, China’s Suzhou Ballet Theatre Masterpieces on Bahrain National Theater Stage

 

On the occasion of World Tourism Day,  Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities presented,  on 27 September 2019, the Suzhou Ballet Theatre at the Bahrain National Theatre. The wonderful ballet dance evening was attended by H.E Shaikha Hala Bint Mohammad Al-Khalifa, Director General of Culture Directorate  at Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities, highly ranked diplomats, as well as many pioneers of cultural movement in Bahrain. 

The concert was organized  in cooperation with  the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Fahad A.R AlGosaibi Company, Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC), Dadabhai Travel.

Speaking for the occasion, H.E Shaikha Hala Bint Mohammad Al-Khalifa said that Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities celebrates World Tourism Day every year because it highly values cultural tourism, a corn stone in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s exceptional heritage, identity and history. H.E said that BACA ‘sends today a message to the world calling for enhancing the real cultural heritage of Bahrain, its civilization, history and archeological and heritage sites’.  

H.E added that Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities, presided by H.E Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa,  is keen to celebrate World Tourism Day in parallel to the National Theater season of events , concert and ballets. H.E thanked the the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Bahrain, for coordination efforts to present this mesmerizing Suzhou Ballet Theatre, lauding the constant fruitful cooperation between the Chinese embassy and Bahrain Culture Authority.

The National Theater audience were mesmerized  by  series of dance pieces such as Chopin’s Poem, Tang Yin, The Nutcracker and Tchaikovsky’s Giselle. Suzhou Ballet Theatre, a wholly owned subsidiary of Suzhou New Era Group, was established in 2007. Led by artistic directors Ying Li and Jiabin Pan, the theatre includes company members who come from major ballet companies and dance academies in China. Performances include a Chinese version of Romeo and Juliet, new productions of Coppelia, Carmen, Cinderella and Swan Lake, a special mice version of The Nutcracker, original productions of Legend of Beauty and Tang Yin, and countless other exceptional pieces.

Since its inception, Suzhou Ballet Theatre, which was founded in 2007, has remained devoted to cross-cultural conceptions and cross-boundary exploration, receiving numerous international awards and recognition. Under the leadership and guidance of its artistic directors – Ying Li and Jiabin Pan, Suzhou Ballet Theatre has quickly developed into one of the most renowned ballet company in China.
