The Heritage Center at the Lebanese American University (LAU) in the Lebanese capital Beirut invites its followers to its 14th seminar entitled “The Rahbani Heritage Through Non-Lebanese Mirrors,” which will be held online on 11 December 2020, starting at 5pm Beirut time (4pm Bahrain time).

The symposium will discuss the tenth volume of the book “Atyaf”, titled “The Rahbani,a Creative Eternal legacy, which was issued during the annual Ta'a Al-Shabab Festival. Those interested can attend the symposium by registering through The Center for Lebanese Heritage on the Lebanese American University’s website.
Poet Henry Zgheib, Director of the Heritage Center at the Lebanese American University will be the symposium moderator, attended also by Mr. Ghassan Al-Shehabi and Esam Al-Jowder, Bahrain, as well as Mohammed Diab and Sayyed Mahmood, Egypt and Sulaiman Al-Haqawi from Saudi Arabia.

The aim of this symposium is to introduce readers and lovers of culture and arts to the singular rich content of the 10th edition of “Atyaf” book, edited by articles and studies written by a number of researchers shedding lights on the outstanding creative experience of the Rahbani brothers, their music, poetry, theater and cinema masterpieces and great deeds. The book will delve into the secrets of brightness and uniqueness of the Rahbanian experience, and how they have shaped and encompassed other arts by their enormous musical genius of talent, culture, boldness and adventure, and that leadership in mixing East and West music in unique positions and placements. The 10th edition of “ Atyaf” book figured prominent figures and famous icons, writers and researchers from all over the Arab world, such as Elyas Sahab, Sayyed Mahmood, Sulaiman Al-Haqawi, Adnan Khalaf Sahi, Esam Al-Jowder, Ghada Shobeir, Mohammed Diab, Najeh Hassan, Nasser Hashem, Nabil Abou Mourad, Nuhail Salloom, Hisham Zine Eddine, Henry Zgheid, Yahya Al-Bashtawi and Youssef Tannous. The book was written by Professor Ghassan Al-Shehabi and designed, artistically produced and executed by Mrs. Waheeda Mallallah .

Worth mentioning that “ Atyaf” book was issued by Ta’a Al-Shabab’ annual festival, which is one of initiative spearheaded by Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities aimed at involving youth and young generations in the local cultural scene participation and creative intellectual, artistic and literary outputs. The festival also dedicates a large part of its activities to arts, intellectual issues, literature, cinema and other cultural aspects. It is worth to mention too that “Manama Doesn’t Sleep” event, which will commemorate the 32nd Anniversary of the Bahrain National Museum with an exciting lineup of events embracing the energy of the city and Bahrain as a whole, will dedicate a hour in its program to celebrate the 10th edition of ‘Atyaf’ book.
