Bahrain Culture Authority Mourns the Death of Artist Salman Ziman

 

Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities paid its tribute today to the passing of the Bahrain artist Salman Zimam (1954-2020), one of the most prominent icons of the GCC artist, who has consecrated his performance songs to national and ban Arabism causes, voicing his proud to support the Palestinian cause. 

H.E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammad Al-Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities described the death of the Bahraini artist Salman Ziman, saying, “The Bahraini art scene lost an artist who took the stage with love, expressing himself with soul and passion, and was able to resist unfortunate circumstances through the arts thus affirming that it is the language of love and victory”. H.E added to say: “the Deceased has always had his touch in the local songs, and he had an inspirational memorable role in training and teaching a generation of music and singing lovers”.

Worth to mention that the late  artist, Salman Duaij Khalifa bin Ziman, was born in Muharraq, Bahrain, and received his secondary education in its schools, before  Working  as an industrial painter at the Ministry of Works. In 1974, he went to Baghdad to study mechanical engineering at the University of Technology, then after graduating back to Bahrain, he worked in building and repairing ships for a period of 7 years. After that, he decided to go to Kuwait where he started his artistic career, and stayed there until 1987, after that he returned to Bahrain and started teaching music, which he continued for 20 years, and in 2010 he retired and devoted himself to singing. His most famous songs figure “ Inta Mouradi”, “Aqbel al Eid”, “ Thekrayt”, “ Bein el mouhebines”, “ Al hob asrar”, “ Allah Allah bil Amana”, “ Ya Bu fa3yel”.
