The 12th edition of Bahrain Summer Festival will kick off with a live concert by the Ismail Dawas Band on Sunday, 2 August 2020, at 7:00 pm. The Live performance will be held at the parking lot of Qal’at al-Bahrain Site Museum. Bahrain Culture Authority is keen to present to its loyal cultural scene public a very different cultural experience, taking into consideration, first and foremost, the safety of everyone. While the lovers of culture will be able to attend the concert, and Due to current health conditions, the celebration taking place in the parking of the Qal’at al-Bahrain Site Museum will be held with specific conditions and precautions amid Covid -19 pandemic outbreak. 

The audience will attend this drive-in concert only, while following its beats and listening to the beautiful rhymes via the Radio on 98.4 FM channel. The attendants are asked to observe a distance between cars parked as determined by organizers, abstain from getting out of their cars for any reason so ever, wearing their face masks if they wish to communicate with one of the organizers, and make sure that only 4 persons are allowed to sit in the car. BACA kindly requests all attendants to disperse after concert is over, cooperate with the organizers to assure the fluidity of the traffic when entering the area and follow instructions and guidance when leaving the parking lot of Qala’at al Bahrain Site Museum. 

The concert will broadcasted live on two FM Radio stations (98.4 FM) and (95 FM), and rebroadcasted later on BACA’s social media channels at @culturebah and @nakhoolbah.

Worth to mention that Ismaeel Dawas Band was established in 1935, this folk band continues to perform important tunes that are a significant part of Bahrain’s cultural heritage. A staple at the Kingdom’s cultural and national celebrations, this band exposes younger generations to their inherited musical heritage while preserving it from extinction.

The 2020 edition of Bahrain Summer Festival, held between 2-31 August, coincides this year with Bahrain Culture Authority’s moto in 2020, which is devoted to highlight “Dilmun: Land of Density”.  The festival presents an array of exciting, month-long program of online educational and creative activities, creative and sports ’workshops, performances, cultural sites’ tours and more, for all ages.
