The 27th Annual Bahrain Heritage Festival
Past Festival Archive

Bahrain Heritage Festival has gained worldwide reputation and vigor since its launch in 1992 thanks to the gracious auspices of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa. The festival reflects HM King Hamad’s personal interest in reviving Bahrain’s genuine and long-dating heritage and protecting it from being marginalized. Bahraini and Arab traditions are presented annually in this festival, which reflects the keenness of His Highness to patronize this event in order to preserve this rich heritage for the future generations.

The festival offers a chance to see some of Bahrain's finest craftsmen at work. Basket-weaving, pottery, handicrafts... you'll see it all here. You will also get to hear traditional Bahraini music. Visitors, locally and internationally,  are dazzled every year with exhibits relating to Bahrain's tradition and culture, with items on pearl diving, falconry and aspects of domestic life including a fully-decorated wedding room.

Under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities has lined up many  rich programmes every year to celebrate this dear annual rendezvous.  Stands presenting pearl-related functions, including folklore pearling songs, shows exposing traditions divers’ houses, in addition to pearl piercing skills are constantly showcased. The festival also features educational shows for children, spotlighting divers’ lifestyles,  as well as the most exquisite creations you will find, ranging from jewellery, iron, wood and paper products to embroidered and crocheted goods as well as highly artistic Arabic calligraphy.
