The 27th Annual Bahrain Heritage Festival

Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Annual Bahrain Heritage Festival returns to reaffirm and showcase the richness of the tangible and intangible elements of the local culture.

In that vein, the 27th edition of the festival will focus on an integral aspect of Bahrain's history, the Arabian horse, a majestic animal which the island has long been famous for breeding, and continues to be the object of regional and international admiration.

The festival, which runs from 24 April to 3 May, 2019, at the site of the Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al-Fateh Fort in the city of Riffa in the Southern Province, features a broad array of traditional local crafts, many of which are still practiced by skilled Bahraini craftsmen to this very day.

The festival also offers a diverse program of activities and workshops catering to people of all ages that highlight the purity and beauty of Arabian horses and their distinctive features, especially for the youth.

The festival grounds offer plentiful exhibition spaces for live folk art shows and traditional and modern handicrafts, as well as dedicated outdoor spaces for traditional market and cafes, guaranteeing audiences a full cultural experience in an atmosphere that is all about entertainment and spending quality time with family and friends.
