Designed by the Danish architecture firm Claus Wohlert in collaboration with PAD, the Al Khamees visitor’s centre will provide a permanent exhibition at the site of the oldest Islamic archaeological site and mosque in Bahrain. The visitor’s centre will display all the archeological artifacts that have been discovered on this site and will provide visitors with the necessary information to understand the richness and historical importance of the Al Khamees mosque and Ain al in Bilad Al Qadeem. The project will also include a public pathway that will surround the site allowing visitors to appreciate it from a distance while protecting the archaeology.
