Saff - Palm Tree Leaves Weaving (ِAlmahafa Making)

Details of the Workshop:

Al Jasra Crafts Centre is organizing a Saff - Palm Tree Leaves Weaving (Al-mahafa) Workshop. The workshop of Saff - Palm Tree Leaves Weaving reflects the optimal use of wicker palm derivatives and transforms them into daily tools used by parents and grandparents, such as food mats, storage baskets, small plates, and hand fans. This art is considered one of the traditional crafts that are still practiced in some villages in the Kingdom of Bahrain, such as Karbabad, Al Jasra, and Budaiya.

Workshop topics include:

•  Training in wicker saff and dealing with palm sticks in every craft.
• Training on various types of saff.
• Training in sewing of saff.
