The Young Artisan - Read with Yusra (a Plate of Dates)

As part of the “The Young Artisan” program, Al Jasra Handicrafts Center organizes a reading workshop titled “Read with Yusra’. In this workshop, children will learn about the story of our Nakhla (The Beloved Palm), its deeply rooted history in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as introducing the most important parts of the palm tree and how to use them in a productive creative way. Children will also participate in preparing a healthy dish containing dates, walnuts, and nuts.

 Workshop topics include:

  • Telling the story of Al Nakhla (The Beloved Palm Tree).
  • Shedding light and discussing the parts of the palm tree and their importance.
  • The deeply rooted history of the palm tree in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
  • Making date balls with walnuts and nuts.

 Workshop Outcomes:

  • Enjoy a marvelous a story about the authentic original Bahraini culture.
  • Identify and learn about the importance of the different parts of the palm tree.
  • The participant learns about the importance of the palm tree in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
  • Taking part in a cooking activity; making a healthy and tasty dish made of dates.
