Make Your Pottery Cup Workshop

Details of the Workshop:

Al Jasra Crafts Centre is hosting the "Make Your Pottery Cup" workshop. Pottery is one of the natural products used in various industries. By shaping it on the potter's wheel, one can create pottery vessels of various shapes. This craft falls under traditional handicrafts, which the Kingdom of Bahrain is renowned for due to the local availability of suitable materials. The diversity of locally made pottery products exemplifies the progress achieved by Bahraini artisans who have inherited the craft from their ancestors.

 Workshop topics include:

•  The trainee will learn about the types of pottery and the tools used in shaping.
• The trainee will discover the methods of pottery wedging and kneading method.
• The trainee learns how to use the wheel to shape and sculp pottery items.

Workshop Outcomes:

·        The trainee makes a pottery cup.
