Brief:
The workshop focuses on freehand sketching techniques using one point and two points perspectives in Bahraini heritage interior and architectural spaces. The participants will learn conceptual sketching that emphasizes key elements of the building such as form, texture, circulation, and spaces users, it also highlights how to embrace these elements in a hierarchal order. The participants will learn how to reflect their perception in a sketch to communicate a message inspired by Dilmun civilization.
The workshop outline:
Day 1:
Introduction: Perception and sight:
How does the eye work?
How does human perceive space?
How to create an illusion of space in 2d drawing?
How perception changes our sketches?
Concepts of sketches:
Emphasis on important components
Contrast
Simplify less important components
One point and two points perspectives:
One point perspective components.
Two points perspective components.
The difference between the two types of perspectives.
Analyzing images and photos of interior spaces.
Extracting lines from photos and redraw them using tracing papers.
Day 2:
Application using one type of perspective
Creating a freehand sketch of an actual space.
Adding details to the perspective
