Clay Shaping

Al Jasra Handicrafts Center is organizing a workshop on the Clay Shaping. Indeed, pottery is one of the most historical famous Bahraini industries that has been practiced since ancient times, with archaeological research indicating its spread for thousands of years, due to the availability of materials suitable for this industry locally. The variety of pottery products presented is a model for the development of the Bahraini craftsman who imbibed the workmanship from their ancestors.

Workshop topics include:

• The trainee will be learn about the types of clay and the tools used in shaping.
• The trainee learn the methods of kneading and preparing the clay.
• Learn how to make a piece of clay.

Workshop Outcomes:

• The trainee creates a work of art using the slide formation method.
• Coloring the work after the first burning with the special colour for the pottery.

Age: 18 and above.
Language: English & Arabic
Registration is limited to those who have been vaccinated and recovered from the Covid-19 and have the Green Shield.
