Traditional Dolls Workshop

Details of the Workshop:

Al Jasra Handicrafts Center is organizing a workshop on the Traditional Dolls, is known as puppets and folk dolls, as it is a part of people's cultures, with intellectual heritage and rituals that have linked and distinguished a civilization from others, and dolls linked to grandmothers' fingers are known to reflect Bahraini heritage. It was a long time ago. The “Traditional Dolls " are constructed from fabric scraps and a bunch of cotton and threads that are molded and sewed into lovely dolls, and the basics of manufacturing cloth dolls will be learnt beginning with selecting acceptable materials.

Workshop topics include:

• Identify the names and types of raw materials
• Learn the basics of detailing and planning before sewing
• Learn the basics of sewing and calligraphy and choose the appropriate materials
• Drawing the pattern and determining the sizes of the dolls
• Stitching and stuffing dolls
• Making the right clothes
• Adding the finishing touches to dolls

Workshop Outcomes:

Making Traditional Dolls in an integrated way.

Age: 18 and above.
