Saff - Palm Tree Leaves Weaving for Kids

Al Jasra Handicrafts Center is organizing a creative interactive workshop on
the art of palm frond weaving, one of the loveliest traditional handicrafts practiced by women to make household accessories and tools, from dining mats and storage baskets to small dishes, handheld fans and chicken coops. Still practiced in several villages throughout the island, the art is most prevalent in the villages of Karbabad, Al-Jasra, and Budaiya.

 Workshop topics include:

• The kids will be training in wicker saf and dealing with palm sticks in every craft
• Training on various types of saf
• Training in sewing of saff

 Workshop Outcomes:

 Make a small Sifra

Age: 7 -14 year

 Language:  English & Arabic

 Workshop fees (including all tools).
