Pottery on the Wheel (Afternoon)

Al Jasra Handicrafts Center is organizing a workshop on the Wheel Throwing Pottery. Indeed, pottery is one of the most historical famous Bahraini industries that has been practiced since ancient times, with archaeological research indicating its spread for thousands of years, due to the availability of materials suitable for this industry locally.  The variety of pottery products presented is a model for the development of the Bahraini artisans who inherited the craftsmanship from their ancestors.

 Workshop topics include:

• The trainee will be learn about the types of clay and the tools used in shaping.
• The trainee will discover the methods of clay wedging and kneading method.
• The trainee learns how to indulge himself in wheel potter clay shaping and sculpting.

 Workshop Outcomes:

• The trainee creates a work of art using the slide formation method.
• Coloring the pottery piece shaped work after bisque firing with the special designated color.

 Age: 18 years old and above

Language:  English & Arabic

• Workshop fees (including all tools).
